FYP Project
During my Final Year in RP, I was given an opportunity to work with a client known as SASCO@Hongsan.
My team and I were tasked to find solutions to encourage seniors, who rarely wants to participate with SASCO's ongoing activities and also enhance the relationship between the staffs and seniors.

My Contributions to the Project
Aliyah (Spatial Designer)
For this project we were split up into our individual strengths, to effectively speed up our team's progress. As, we had to do both digital and physical intervention.
I was given the role as the Spatial Designer to redesign the current interior of the SASCO MPH and Entrance Hallway.
My Interior Improvements is one of my biggest main contribution that I have completed for the team. As it is IMPORTANT, to showcase the changes that we will intervene, to allocate the placements for our activity solutions as well.
With my Spatial Design Skills I was able to illustrate how the current SASCO@Hongsan looks like, alongisde how the Improved Version will look like in the future. I have done well in demonstrating a big visual difference between the 2, showcasing what will happen before and after for our clients.
Other big aspects that I have contributed would be designing the Artworks Microsite. This microsite will be used for seniors to sell their artworks online and earn money. Yet also, encourage generosity towards the citizens to purchase them, as a form of donation. I have greatly displayed my UI Design Skills in this Microsite, by ensuring that I use a similar and consistent style guide like the other digital solutions and making sure that it will be a seamless experience for users, incorporating UI Design Principles in my work.
Another major contribution that I have done for the team would be interviewing many staffs and seniors to provide a kickstart to the project. Empathizing with the users helped me not only gain deeper insights, but also made me kept, brainstorming solutions repeatedly for the team. I felt that I've done impressively in this aspect, as I was able to engage with the interviewees, till they enjoyed interacting with me and could possibly continue our conversation for more than 15mins! I enjoyed spending time with both the seniors and staffs and would love to be given the opportunity to work with clients like them in the future!
Project Outcome
My Overall FYP Experience;
I felt that my team and I have done an excellent job for our client and supervisor, whom were very impress with our solution.
I learnt to work better under pressure as, having a strict supervisor and a team leader was a huge bonus! They would always provide the team with short term deadlines, which actually makes me work even more proefficiently as I get to complete our assignments on time and would always feel a sense of accomplishment after realising, I have done sufficient for the team :)
I also learn to accept critiques very well, throughout my FYP and always learn a lot from them. There were several instances, where my team felt undoubtful and had to keep changing our ideas due to our supervisor's comments. As well as, comments coming from the judges during our mid-point presentation.
Nonetheless, receiving those negative feedbacks was definitely worth it. All we needed to do, was to sit down and discuss with the team properly, squeezing as much knowledge as we can to make our solutions possible and brilliant.
Confidence and UX/UI Skills are key, to leading a successful project.
Lastly, I learnt to be a responsible team member. Looking back, I felt that I was the most productive in this Project, compared to my other school projects. I consistently kept doing my tasks for my FYP ensuring that there's no gaps, as I want to strive good grades and acknowledgement for the team. This Final Year Project determines everyone's future and I'm not going to risk disappointing the team, for any silly mistakes.
To conclude, I have always sincerely, put in a lot of effort to this project by going an extra mile. Ensuring that I consistently note down every meeting minutes accurately. To ensure our team stays on schedule and is well prepared for future tasks.
