UI CASE STUDY 1

Design Brief: ABC Urban Gardens offers a range of products from gardening essentials to potted plants--indoor plants, outdoor plants, and vegetables that grow in pots. Gardening essentials include soil, tray, fertilisers, gloves, shears, spade, and starter kits. Vegetables that grow in pots here include cherry tomatoes, spring onions and chilli peppers.

As ABC Urban Gardens is expanding, they have engaged me to design an online store for their business. The online store will enable users to browse their products, select and place orders. As part of their passion to share with the community, both online talks and hands-on workshops are available to plant enthusiasts occasionally.

About The Project

This project was assigned to all UX students studying User Interaction module in Year 2 Semester 1 as part of their Graded Assignment.. This work contains 60% of the overall grade which has to be submitted in a span of 12 weeks. For this project, we are assigned to design a website for ABC Gardens, using "Figma".

The Process

When desigining a website, we need to think of how the layout should look like and the different type of elements we should include. Hence, before going on with this project, I had to do some preparation by researching and finding different Gardening Websites online, to get some inspirations. After, figuring out the different types of design systems and elements that needs to be included in the website. I moved on to designing the wireframes for both mobile and desktop versions.

Once, I was satisfied with how the draft website (Wireframes) looks like. I started adding in colors, typography and additional elements to enhance the user-friendy design. (Mockups)

Lastly, was to make it interactive and turning the Mockup into a Prototype! Not to mention, I also did style guide for easy reference on the design elements that I have included in my website :)
